Home & Heart Clearance — Estate & Property Clearance Auckland
Auckland Estate & Property Clearance

A proper farewell.
Not disposal.

We help Auckland families, homeowners, executors, and property professionals with estate clearance, decluttering, downsizing, pre-sale home clearing, abandoned tenancy clearances, and respectful removal of unwanted household items.
Whether you are preparing a home for sale, helping a parent downsize, clearing a loved one’s estate, or managing a property transition, we provide a calm, practical, and respectful service from start to finish.

Your Farewell Preference

Ceremonial Karakia Farewell

Where appropriate and available, we can help coordinate a ceremonial karakia with a kaumātua or cultural representative.

Secular Farewell

A quiet moment of acknowledgement. Items photographed with care, family given space and recognition.

Professional Clearance

Handled with respect and care throughout, at the pace that works for your timeline.

What we do

Clearing a home is one of the hardest things a family can face.
We make it easier.

Home & Heart Clearance is a specialist estate and property clearance service for the whole Auckland community. We serve families navigating deceased estates, abandoned tenancies, and property transitions with cross-cultural understanding around family, belongings, and final transitions.
We help sort, remove, salvage, donate and responsibly dispose of items with care and discretion before a move, sale, retirement village transition, or lifestyle change.

Founded by Ken, a second-generation Japanese New Zealander with 15 years living and working across New Zealand, Japan, and the wider Asia-Pacific, Home & Heart brings a depth of cross-cultural understanding that sets it apart from general clearance operators. Every job - large or small - is approached with the same care.

Farewell Framework
Every clearance, cared for.
All three tiers are available to any family, regardless of background. Your preference is established at the initial consultation.
01
Tier One
Ceremonial Karakia Farewell

We can help coordinate a ceremonial karakia with a kaumātua or cultural representative before clearance begins where appropriate and available. We maintain a standing kaumātua contact and provide at least 14 days' notice for every ceremony. This is arranged respectfully where it is suitable for the family, property, and situation.

02
Tier Two
Secular Farewell

For families who want a moment of acknowledgement without ceremony or religion. Our team sets aside significant items, photographs each one with care, and gives the family a quiet moment of recognition before the clearance proceeds. No external contact required. No additional charge.

03
Tier Three
Standard Professional Clearance

Items are handled with care and respect throughout the entire process. No ceremony, no delay. Proceeds at H&H's standard service pace. Families with additional religious or ceremonial wishes - Buddhist, Christian, or other - are accommodated privately through our standing contacts, arranged on request.

🏠

Deceased Estates

Full-day dedicated clearances with item-by-item family confirmation, aftercare reporting, and full auction house coordination.

🔑

Abandoned Tenancies

Fast, professional clearance for property managers. Void-period turnarounds handled efficiently with full disposal documentation.

📦

Small Salvage & Pickups

Free or discounted pickup when your items have resale value. We route salvageable goods through auction and charity networks, not landfill.

How It Works

Simple, transparent, from first call to final report.

Step one

Initial Consultation

We conduct a conversation by phone or in person. We document the family's wishes, identify items of sentimental value, and confirm your farewell tier preference. No commitment required at this stage.

Step two

On-Site Assessment & Quote

We visit the property in person, photograph systematically, assess volume and access conditions, and issue a formal written quote. 500kg disposal cap.

Step three

Clearance Day

If ceremonial karakia has been arranged, the kaumātua or appropriate cultural representative may lead karakia before clearance begins. Every item is sorted and nothing removed without your authorisation. We handle reselling, donating and disposal.

Step four

Aftercare Report

Within 3 business days, you receive a written summary of what was kept, consigned to auction, donated, and disposed of.

For Professionals

A trusted referral partner for Auckland's property professionals.

We work directly with estate lawyers, property managers, and retirement villages who need reliable, culturally sensitive clearance for their clients. We are actively welcoming new referral relationships - Several B2B partners have already begun referring clients to us as we build our Auckland clearance network.

Our approach protects your reputation. Written quotes, signed disposal caps, aftercare documentation, and 3-day reporting mean you always know exactly what has happened to a property.

⚖️

Estate Lawyers & Probate Specialists

We strive to maintain high service standards and we provide the documentation your clients' estates require.

🏢

Property Management Firms

For abandoned tenancies and void-period clearances. We work to your timeline and provide full disposal receipts for your records.

🌿

Retirement Villages

Compassionate, discreet clearances for residents transitioning to care or following bereavement. We understand the sensitivity these situations require.

Our Salvage Approach

Landfill is always the last resort.

We believe a clearance that sends everything to landfill is a clearance done badly. Salvageable goods have real value - for families who may receive auction proceeds, for charities who benefit from donations, and for the environment.

We route items through a four-tier hierarchy designed to extract maximum value from what you leave behind. We handle photography, cataloguing, and sales on your behalf.

Premium

Specialist Auction Houses

Fine jewellery, art, antiques, designer furniture - consigned to auction houses. Māori taonga, cultural items, and items of uncertain provenance are handled separately and are not sold, donated, or transferred without appropriate family, cultural, and legal consideration.

Mid-Value

General Auction Houses

Quality furniture, working whiteware, tools, homewares.

Donation

Charity & Community

Clothing, kitchenware, and usable goods donated to hospice, refugee support houses, and community organisations - keeping items in use.

Last Resort

Responsible Disposal

Only what truly cannot be reused. Licensed transfer station disposal with full weight documentation. We track every kilogram diverted from landfill.
